Welcome to The Habit, Intelligence,

& Computation in Motor Skill Laboratory

We are a research group led by Yue Du in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas A&M University. We use psychophysics experiments, computational modeling, and patient studies to answer questions at the intersection of complex human movement and mind.

Our lab logo symbolizes our mission: thinking about motor skills, uncovering the thinking inside motor skills, and pushing the field to think differently about how motor skills are acquired.

Research projects in the lab cover diverse areas, including motor skill learning across the lifespan, action control, habit formation and extinction, and mechanical reasoning.  Find out more about our research

We are a research group led by Yue Du in the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management at Texas A&M University. We use psychophysics experiments, computational modeling, and patient studies to study questions at the intersection of motor behavior and cognition.

Research projects in the lab cover diverse areas, including motor skill learning across the lifespan, action control, habit formation and extinction, and mechanical reasoning.

Our mission is to advance  understanding of complex human mind and movement, and to use these insights to inform better strategies in sports and musical training, education, rehabilitation, and human augmentation.
